Philosophy

Everyone in Horstfelde treats the animals with attention, friendliness and respect. Every horse has its time to develop and is supported in the best possible way by the Horstfelde team. For this reason, the number of horses is limited - a luxury that is aimed exclusively at the horses' well-being. The Horstfelde studfarm has established a philosophy of treating horses in a species-appropriate and respectful manner. The passion for the horses entrusted to us and the will to carry out breeding and rearing under the best possible conditions for the horses have made the business a respected and established stud farm far beyond the borders of Brandenburg.
History

Helga and Manfred Semmer founded the Horstfelde Stud in 1991. As passionate riders and great horse lovers, it was important to them to create a place that combines high-class breeding, top-class sport and the love of the wonderful creature “horse”. When a former LPG site and the adjoining riding stable came up for sale shortly after reunification, Dr. Manfred Semmer didn't take long and bought the buildings, stables and pastures. In the years that followed, he and his family worked tirelessly to expand the studfarm into an idyllic spot. The adjacent meadows and fields, lakes and forests in the middle of the Teltow Fläming and on the edge of nature reserves became home to first-class sport horses. Since the studfarm was founded, the breeding quality and the pedigree of the broodmare Alpenblume (from Interval xx) have continued to develop. Over the years, many employees have enriched the company through their tireless commitment, and many trainees successfully completed their apprenticeships as horse owners. Thanks to its specialists, the stud farm can be seen as a private, family-run business - and yet is always looking for new challenges.
Team

In addition to the Semmer family, today's team consists of the following personalities, shown in the group photo from left to right:
Tatjana Reich - breeding, riding and management, is responsible for breeding and rearing and takes care of all breeding management, marketing and customer care. She is also very successful in the dressage saddle and is your contact person.
Alexander Tichatschke - rider, not only successful in training young horses, but also in further supporting horses up to the advanced level.
Julia Sophie Müller - rider, she has been part of our team since the beginning of December 2024. She is already inspiring people with her promising riding of the young horses.
Finja Kühne - trainee horse manager (focus on breeding), uses and translates with diligence and commitment all the opportunities that the stud farm offers in order to complete a good training.
Michaela Lattermann - stable management, the good soul of the company. She plans and organizes the daily processes in the stables and takes care of the physical and mental well-being of our horses.
Nanette Bölter - stable management, has also recently been providing energetic and successful support in all aspects of the stud farm.
Currently not on the group photo:
Christoph Herrmann - agriculture, a true horse man, who, in addition to taking care of the farm and the fleet, also takes a lead in looking after the pastures and grassland.
Facility

The meadows and pastures of the Horstfelde studfarm are located in a picturesque, protected lake and moor landscape, about 50 km south of the center of Berlin in Brandenburg's Teltow-Fläming. Indoor boxes and playpens of various sizes are located in the historic, modernized and well-maintained farm buildings. The outdoor boxes provide further accommodation. In addition to spacious outdoor areas, there is of course a riding hall on the stud grounds. The extensive terrain with excellent ground conditions is also a point that, in addition to everything else, ensures successful and varied training that is appropriate to the horses' disposition. This includes natural riding and driving trails on our own property. Jumping areas and eventing jumps, also in the forest, as well as modern dressage training areas. The studfarm also has its own agricultural land for producing straw and hay. A landscape goal that has already been widely realized is the development into a unique, park-like, nature conservation-friendly horse paradise - a prerequisite for "happy horses"!
